Lombok Island is located in West Nusa Tenggara (in the east of Bali Island). Nowadays, Lombok is known as in the past of Bali Island. Lombok Island is popular because its beautiful coastal scenery, enchanting waterfalls, towering Mount Rinjani as known as the second highest mountain in Indonesia, combined with relatively few tourists, Lombok is the paradise for tourists.
Lombok island and Bali island is separated by Lombok Strait which is the biogeographical boundary between the Indo-Malaysian flora and fauna of Australasia. This limit is known as the Line Wallacean, after Alfred Russel Wallace was the first to comment on the striking difference between the animals found in the west of Indonesia to the east of Indonesia, where the animals east of the Lombok Strait is more like animals (animals that are found in Australia)
Compared with Bali Island, Lombok has a drier climate, rare of torrential rains with duration more than 2 hours, thereby Lombok become an attractive option for travel during the rainy season in Indonesia, which is about the month from October to December. Nevertheless the peak tourist season in Lombok usually occurs between May to August.
Local language of Lombok people is Sasak language, However don’t worried because most of them also understand Indonesian, and a fraction can speak English. So, enjoy your holiday in Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara.
