Many tourists who visited Manado, North Sulawesi, would visited Bunaken national marine park. It because they know the beauty of Bunaken national marine park. Although, this marine park has a cluster of consisting 5 islands, but Bunaken is the most famous.
Bunaken is a island with approximatelly 8 km² at Manado bay. This island is a part of Manado city, the capital city of North Sulawesi. Around Bunaken island, there is Bunaken marine park which is a part of Old Manado national marine park. Bunaken is a national marine park with highest marine biodiversity in the world. Therefore, diving is the most popular activity in Bunaken. Diving sport can attract many tourists to visit Bunaken. Although covering area of 75,265 hectares, the diving spot is limited only in beaches that surround 5 island. Marine park officials prohibit tourists to dive into the sea because it was feared would be separated from the beach monitoring officers.

Nowadays, Bunaken has a least 40 places that is rich in tropical fish and coral reefs. Many divers can dive and see 150 species from 58 genus of fish and coral reefs of the Bunaken national marine park. Divers will be amazed with the richness of this marine park. Bunaken national marine park has 20 diving spots with varying depths up to 1344 meters. From 20 diving spots, 12 diving spots in around of Bunaken island. 12 diving spots is the most popular for divers because their beauty of underwater scenery.

Most of 12 diving spots in Bunaken island lined up from the southeast to the northwest. In this area, there are underwater great walls or also called the hanging walls or a giant rock walls that stand vertically and curved upward. These rock walls are also a food for fish in the marine around Bunaken Island. Marine natural phenomena that exist in Bunaken, almost certainly not be found in other marine parks. Travelling in the marine park is good for knowledge of adults and children about the nature of the sea. Beside fame of the underwater, the islands in this marine park have a natural atmospere.
